OOSARI

Oosari is conceived as a contemporary verandah at the edge of the city — a place where time slows, light softens, and everyday rituals find room to breathe. Rooted in the Gujarati osari, the in-between court of traditional homes, the café reinterprets this threshold through restrained form, deep overhangs and a calm, material-rich palette.

The café is built from locally sourced stone, grounding the space in its landscape while keeping construction honest and sustainable. A single floating roof rests on slender metal I-section frames that conceal all lighting, allowing the ceiling to glow without visible fixtures. Glass, timber and water dissolve boundaries, creating a seamless, calm environment where architecture, light and nature meet — inviting guests not just to sit, but to linger.

Oosari is not designed to impress. It is designed to invite — to pause, to gather, and to return.

“Between the inside and the outside is where architecture truly lives.”
